FastBIT

The FastBIT™ patching process is the core technology behind CaveoData's ADPS. The patching process involves the comparison of two different versions of the same file and extracting the differences between the files. When the differences are extracted from the two files, they are saved into a new file and compressed into what is known as a Patch. The patch file is often 85% to 99.9% smaller than the file which the patch was extracted from originally.

Encryption

Every Client's data is stored securely encrypted on CaveoData's Storage servers with super secure 448-bit blowfish encryption. Blowfish is a block cipher that was designed in 1993 by Bruce Schneier as a fast, free alternative to existing encryption algorithms. It is used as a convenient and much faster substitute for DES. Since then Blowfish has been extensively analyzed and no significant weaknesses have been found. It is considered to be a strong algorithm and has been implemented in over 130 commercial applications. 448-bit Blowfish encryption is many times stronger than what is required by law to transmit medical and financial data. This encryption has never been broken!

Co-Located Data Redundancy

Once a client's data is backup on CaveoData's primary storage server, it is again backup on another CaveoData storage server co-located in the western US. This allows for multiple copies of you data to be stored at different locations, for the ultimate in data security to protect against natural as well as man made disasters.
